  • Whiteboard: Website Project
  • Publications Content Owner meeting
    • Went very well
    • discussed ad strategy, to meet about next week
    • plan to use to publish bulletin online in January
    • need a subpage template = publishes on a per-issue basis, instead of per article.
      • solution: categorize (or tag, I think) article posts under an issue number
      • solution: create new custom post type for issue landing pages
  • Internal Tool research:
    • Workplace by Facebook:

      • First impression: I really really like it and think it could be very useful to the NAWCC HQ staff. I’m looking for an opportunity to share it with someone. From their site: "Workplace does more than just simplify communications – it inspires all levels of the company to embrace digital and mobile, and adopt a culture of speed and transparency."

    • Information Architecture: Organize awards into categories
    • Thoughts: the language is awfully dry and legal. Does it have to be that way, or can we humanize it a little?
    • Next Steps: Going past this, there are a few ways we can improve this, like sorting the winner names, categorizing the awards, giving each award its own post, making badges for each award, adding media, and perhaps a few other things. I’ll be addressing the search function of the site, as well as a few other functions that’ll allow some of these improvements during the rest of this month, so at some point we can re-approach member awards in a later iteration.
